Newsrupt Subscription Terms and Conditions

These Subscription Terms and Conditions govern paid and promotional subscriptions offered by Newsrupt through https://newsrupt.pk, its applications and other authorised digital platforms. By purchasing, activating or using a Newsrupt subscription, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Editorial and Content Policy and general Website Terms of Use.

1. Subscription Services

A Newsrupt subscription may provide access to benefits such as:
  • Premium articles and analysis
  • Subscriber-only newsletters
  • Digital editions or archives
  • Reduced advertising or an advertisement-free experience
  • Special reports, events or other member benefits
  • Additional features described at the time of purchase
Available benefits may vary according to the selected plan, platform, location and promotional offer. The features included in each subscription will be displayed before payment.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to purchase a subscription. You are responsible for ensuring that the information provided during registration and payment is accurate, complete and current. Newsrupt may refuse or cancel a subscription where it reasonably believes that false information, unauthorised payment details, fraud or misuse is involved.

3. Account Registration

Certain subscriptions may require a registered Newsrupt account. You are responsible for:
  • Keeping your login credentials confidential.
  • Maintaining accurate account information.
  • Restricting unauthorised access to your account.
  • Informing Newsrupt promptly of suspected misuse or a security breach.
  • All activity conducted through your account unless caused by a failure within Newsrupt’s systems.
A subscription is intended for the individual or organisation named during registration. Login credentials may not be sold, transferred, publicly shared or used to provide unauthorised access to others.

4. Subscription Plans and Prices

Newsrupt may offer monthly, quarterly, annual, organisational or other subscription plans. The applicable price, billing period, included benefits and any introductory conditions will be shown before checkout. Unless otherwise stated, prices are displayed in Pakistani Rupees and may include or exclude applicable taxes as indicated during payment. Newsrupt may change its subscription prices from time to time. A price change will not ordinarily affect a prepaid subscription period that has already begun. Subscribers will be informed before a new price applies to a renewal, where required.

5. Payment

By submitting payment information, you confirm that:
  • You are authorised to use the selected payment method.
  • The payment information supplied is accurate.
  • Newsrupt or its authorised payment provider may charge the stated subscription fee.
  • Applicable taxes, bank charges or payment-processing fees may also apply.
Payments may be processed by third-party banks, card networks, mobile-wallet providers or payment gateways. Newsrupt does not control charges imposed independently by those providers. If payment is declined, reversed, disputed or remains unpaid, Newsrupt may suspend or terminate access to subscription benefits.

6. Automatic Renewal

Where a subscription is identified as automatically renewing, it will renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. By selecting an automatically renewing plan, you authorise Newsrupt and its payment provider to charge the applicable renewal fee to your saved payment method. Before purchase, the checkout page should clearly display:
  • Whether the plan renews automatically.
  • The renewal frequency.
  • The amount payable or how the renewal price will be determined.
  • The method for cancelling the subscription.
If automatic renewal is not supported by the selected payment method, access may expire at the end of the paid period unless the subscriber manually renews it.

7. Trials and Promotional Offers

Newsrupt may offer free trials, introductory prices, discount codes or other promotional subscriptions. Each offer may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, duration limits and renewal conditions. Unless otherwise stated:
  • Promotional offers are limited to one per eligible subscriber.
  • Offers may not be combined.
  • Newsrupt may withdraw an offer before it is accepted.
  • A trial may convert into a paid subscription if this is clearly disclosed before activation.
  • The regular subscription fee may apply after the promotional period ends.
Creating multiple accounts to repeatedly claim the same offer is prohibited.

8. Subscription Activation and Access

Subscription access normally begins after successful payment or confirmation of an eligible promotional offer. Technical delays may occasionally occur. If access is not activated within a reasonable period, contact Newsrupt with your registered email address and payment reference. Access is provided for personal, lawful and non-commercial use unless an organisational or commercial licence expressly permits wider use.

9. Cancellation

You may cancel an automatically renewing subscription through your account settings, the relevant app store or by contacting Newsrupt at bd@newsrupt.pk .

Cancellation prevents future renewal charges but does not normally end access immediately. Unless otherwise stated, subscription benefits will remain available until the end of the current paid billing period. Deleting the Newsrupt application, unsubscribing from an email or ceasing to use the service does not automatically cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions purchased through an external platform, app store, telecommunications provider or other third party may need to be cancelled directly through that provider.

10. Refunds

Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated during purchase, subscription fees are non-refundable once access has been activated. Refunds or account credits may be considered where:
  • A subscriber was charged more than once for the same subscription.
  • Payment was taken after a properly completed cancellation.
  • A significant technical failure prevented access for an unreasonable period.
  • Newsrupt discontinued a prepaid subscription service before the paid term ended.
  • Applicable law requires a refund.
Newsrupt does not ordinarily provide refunds for:
  • A change of mind.
  • Failure to use the subscription.
  • Partial use of a billing period.
  • Failure to cancel before renewal.
  • Temporary interruptions or scheduled maintenance.
  • Removal of an individual article, feature or benefit that does not substantially affect the overall subscription.
  • Refund requests must be submitted within 7/14 days of the relevant charge to bd@newsrupt.pk , together with the account email, payment reference, transaction date and reason for the request.

Approved refunds will be returned through the original payment method where reasonably possible. Processing times may depend on the subscriber’s bank or payment provider.

    11. Subscription Changes

Subscribers may be permitted to upgrade, downgrade or change their plans through account settings or customer support. Any adjustment to the price, billing date or access level will be disclosed before the change is confirmed. Upgrades may take effect immediately, while downgrades may take effect from the next billing period.

    12. Content Availability

Newsrupt may add, update, correct, archive or remove content when necessary for editorial, legal, technical or commercial reasons. A subscription provides access to the service and benefits described for the applicable plan. It does not guarantee that any particular article, author, publication frequency, feature or archive item will remain available permanently. Newsrupt may modify subscription benefits, provided that material changes affecting existing subscribers are communicated within a reasonable period.

    13. Acceptable Use

    Subscribers must not:
    • Share account access beyond the permitted number of users.
    • Copy, scrape, download or systematically extract substantial parts of the service.
    • Republish subscriber-only content without written permission.
    • Circumvent paywalls, security controls or access restrictions.
    • Use automated systems to access Newsrupt without authorisation.
    • Resell or commercially exploit subscription content.
    • Use the service for unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes.
    • Interfere with the security, stability or operation of the platform.
Brief quotations may be used where permitted by law, provided Newsrupt is properly credited and a direct link to the original publication is included.

    14. Intellectual Property

All original articles, graphics, videos, photographs, newsletters, branding, databases, layouts and other materials made available through a Newsrupt subscription are owned by or licensed to Newsrupt and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Purchasing a subscription grants a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to access the subscribed services. It does not transfer ownership of any Newsrupt content or intellectual property.

    15. Suspension and Termination

Newsrupt may suspend or terminate a subscription where:
    • Payment remains outstanding.
    • A charge is fraudulently disputed.
    • Account credentials are being shared or sold.
    • The subscriber materially violates these terms.
    • Use of the service creates a security or legal risk.
    • Suspension or termination is required by law or a competent authority.
Where reasonably possible, Newsrupt will notify the subscriber and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue. Serious fraud, security abuse or unlawful conduct may result in immediate termination. Termination for a material violation may be made without a refund, subject to applicable law.

    16. Service Availability

Newsrupt aims to keep its subscription services reasonably accessible but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Access may be temporarily affected by maintenance, software updates, internet disruption, cybersecurity incidents, third-party service failures or circumstances beyond Newsrupt’s reasonable control. Newsrupt will take reasonable steps to restore affected services but will not be responsible for minor or temporary interruptions.

    17. Third-Party Purchases and Services

Subscriptions purchased through Apple, Google, a mobile network, payment partner or another third party may also be governed by that provider’s terms, billing rules and refund procedures. Newsrupt is not responsible for an external provider’s systems, fees or processing delays. Where these terms conflict with mandatory third-party billing rules, the applicable third-party rules may govern the relevant transaction.

    18. Privacy and Payment Information

Newsrupt processes subscriber information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Payment details may be collected and processed directly by authorised payment providers. Newsrupt may not receive or store complete card or financial account information. Subscribers may receive essential service communications concerning payment, renewal, security, access or changes to their subscription. These operational messages are separate from optional marketing communications.

    19. Disclaimer

Newsrupt content is provided for general news, informational and educational purposes. It should not be treated as professional legal, financial, medical, investment or other specialist advice. While Newsrupt makes reasonable efforts to publish accurate information, news develops rapidly and content may be corrected or updated as further information becomes available.

    20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Newsrupt will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses resulting from the use of, or inability to access, a subscription service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct or other obligations imposed by applicable law.

    21. Changes to These Terms

Newsrupt may update these Subscription Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in its services, pricing, technology, business practices or legal obligations. Material changes affecting an active subscription will be communicated through the website, account notification or registered email address where reasonably required. Continued use after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms, subject to applicable law.

    22. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. The parties should first attempt to resolve any subscription complaint through Newsrupt’s customer support process. If the matter cannot be resolved, it may be referred to the courts or other competent legal forums in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, subject to applicable law. Nothing in this section removes any mandatory consumer right or remedy available under applicable law.
