Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir has reaffirmed the enduring strength of Pakistan’s relationship with China, describing the bilateral partnership as steadfast despite evolving regional and global challenges.
Speaking during a meeting with a high-level Chinese military delegation at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, Field Marshal Munir said the Pakistan-China friendship has remained resilient through changing geopolitical circumstances and continues to serve as a cornerstone of regional stability and strategic cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief highlighted the longstanding trust between the two countries and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding collaboration in defence, security, economic development and regional connectivity. He described the relationship as an “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” built on mutual respect and shared interests.
The visiting Chinese delegation reiterated Beijing’s commitment to strengthening military-to-military cooperation and praised the close coordination between the armed forces of both countries. Discussions also covered regional security, evolving geopolitical developments and opportunities to deepen defence collaboration.
Pakistan and China maintain one of the region’s closest strategic partnerships, cooperating across defence, trade, infrastructure and technology. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) remains a flagship component of bilateral ties, while security cooperation continues to play a central role in the relationship.
Field Marshal Munir also acknowledged China’s consistent support for Pakistan on regional and international issues, saying both countries have continued to strengthen cooperation despite an increasingly complex global environment. He emphasised that sustained engagement between the two nations contributes to peace, stability and economic development across the wider region.
The meeting reflects the continued momentum in Pakistan-China relations at a time of shifting geopolitical dynamics in Asia. Officials from both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and further enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual strategic interest.
