Rescue 1122 evacuated 120 residents from Peshawar’s Sardar Colony after floodwater entered the neighbourhood during the latest spell of monsoon rains, prompting a large-scale emergency response.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, 40 rescuers supported by four emergency vehicles were deployed after rising water inundated residential streets and threatened homes in the affected area.
Emergency teams assisted families stranded by the floodwater and relocated them to safer locations as rainfall continued across parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Officials said the operation was completed without major complications, while monitoring of vulnerable areas remains ongoing.
The latest flooding forms part of the wider monsoon emergency affecting several parts of Pakistan, with heavy rainfall triggering urban flooding, road closures and rising river levels in multiple cities. Authorities continue to advise residents living in low-lying areas to remain alert and follow official weather advisories.
Rescue officials have also urged the public to avoid travelling through flooded roads and to immediately contact emergency services if evacuation becomes necessary as further rainfall is forecast in the coming days.
